DESCRIPTION
The Center was established to represent the University System of the State of Florida. Its mission is collect, analyze and promote the use of scientically sound information concerning the management of tropical and sub-tropical systems.
SERVICE AND ACTIVITIES
The Center provides research (related to practical problems), information (collection, synthesis, dissemination, creation of decision support systems), workshops and training (executive awareness, professional updating and information synthesis), and creation and coordination of environmental research agendas (on statewide, national, and international levels).
AREA OF CONCENTRATION
Of special interest are descriptions of water problems and issues; ecosystem management issues; requests for information and technical assistance and advise; announcements of training and educational opportunities; announcements of new projects or reports of interest to water managers; discussions of water supplies and policies and references to best management practices, especially those used to control nonpoint source runoff or discharges to groundwater; discussions of ecosystem management and its relationship to water resources management; and discussions of water management strategies in the context of sustainable development.

Florida and humid and sub-humid tropical regions.
