DESCRIPTION

The Institute coordinates and conducts basic and applied research on environmental problems. Its mission is the discovery and transfer of knowledge in the use and management of environmental resources. Its focus is research , information dissemination, public education and the training of graduate students.

SERVICE AND ACTIVITIES

Conduct research studies funded by state and federal agencies and the private sector. Information dissemination and technology transfer programs.

AREA OF CONCENTRATION

Hydrologic and water quality systems models; surface and ground water impact assessment; waste residuals control technology; wetlands;acid mine drainage control; risk perception; public education
