DESCRIPTION

The Department of earth Sciences has 13 faculty, 7 full time staff, and over 40 graduate students conducting research in the earth sciences, with an emphasis on surficial processes and modelling our goal is to educate students in the earth sciences and create new knowledge in these fields.

SERVICE AND ACTIVITIES

Geographic Information systems analysis of precipitation, runoff and erosion; channel stability analysis; snow distribution;bedload transport of gravel, heavy metal concentrations in streams; climate change;glacial history; groundwater resource evaluation for rural subdivisions.
