DESCRIPTION

The mission of the AUEI is to serve the state, nation, and global community by providing leadership and coherence in all university areas of environmental instruction, research, and extension/outreach.

The goals of the Institute is to promote coordinate and implement multidisciplinary programs and activities to meet the environmental needs of the University, state, and nation.

SERVICE AND ACTIVITIES

Increase information and access to extramural funding, and developing proposals and other means for improving the quality of environmental education and research at Auburn University. Provide information and instruction regarding environmental issues to government and the public. Assist faculty of the University in preparing processing, and fulfilling proposals for research, instruction, and outreach in areas related to the environment.

AREA OF CONCENTRATION

There is no specific area of focus related to water. Rather, the concern of the AUEI is with all water related issues of physical, economic, or social nature.

GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE OF ACTIVITES

The State of Alabama is foremost in program development. However, regional and global concerns are of utmost importance to AUEI.

TYPE OF ORGANIZATION

The AUEI is an Institute organized and operated under the office if the Provost of Auburn University.
