DESCRIPTION
AWWA is a 55,000 member strong non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of public health and welfare by assuring drinking water of unquestionable quality and sufficient quantity. The three guiding principles of the association are: safe and sufficient water for all people, customer satisfaction and confidence, and total water management. AWWA's membership consists primarily of water suppliers both public and private), consultants, manufacturers, educators, and regulators. AWWA is comprised of 43 sections, each section covering one or more state or province in North America. AWWA has national offices in Denver and Washington D.C.
SERVICE AND ACTIVITIES
Publications: AWWA produces a wide variety of manuals, handbooks, standards, videos, CD-ROM, and books for the water industry. Periodicals: Journal AWWA - technical articles and reports, Mainstream - monthly newspaper concerning AWWA activities, Waterweek - newsletter on current national evernts, Opflow - operator issues.
