DESCRIPTION
The American River Management Society (ARMS) is a national non- profit professional society, dedicated to the protection and management of North America's river resources. Formed in 1988, out membership includes federal, state, and local agency employees, academicians, and dedicated organizations and citizens form the private sector. In bringing together this diverse group of people, ARMS is able to approach river management holistically.
SERVICE AND ACTIVITIES
Promote the protection and management of river resources in order to provide continued opportunities for high quality recreation experiences. Foster an understanding of holistic ecosystem river basin management. Promote agency and public appreciation of the social and economic benefits of integrated river resource management. Assist all who work in river management to keep current with new findings and techniques. Encourage and support the professional development of members.
